Terms of Service

Last updated July 17, 2026

This is the agreement between you and KEYFRAME. We've tried to write it the way we'd explain it out loud — plain sentences, no buried surprises. It's still a real, binding contract, so read it.

01The Service

KEYFRAME is a $9.99/mo software subscription for a creative studio — the browser interface, prompt tools, model pickers, asset library, and job history you use to create images, video, and lipsync content.

We sell the studio. We do not sell generation capacity. Every generation you run is executed by a third-party AI model provider (for example fal.ai or Replicate) using your own API key, and that provider — not KEYFRAME — bills you for the compute.

02Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

KEYFRAME is a "bring your own key" product. You create and pay for your own account with a model provider, generate an API key on that account, and paste it into KEYFRAME.

When you add a key, you're telling us two things, and by adding it you confirm both: (1) that account belongs to you, and (2) you authorize KEYFRAME to call that provider's API on your behalf, using your key, only in response to actions you take inside the studio (clicking Generate, running an upscale, and so on). We never use your key for anything you didn't ask for, and we never combine or pool your key with any other user's usage.

You remain the provider's direct customer. The provider's own terms of service and acceptable use policy govern how their models may be used, and you're responsible for following them — KEYFRAME just gives you a studio to work in. If a provider tells us they've flagged abuse tied to a key stored in your account, we may suspend or terminate your KEYFRAME access while we sort it out.

You can delete a stored key at any time from Settings. Once deleted, we can no longer call that provider on your behalf.

03Billing & Trial

New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription at $9.99/mo, billed to that card.

The subscription auto-renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings — Billing. Canceling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund the period you've already paid for. You keep full studio access until the end of that period, then the studios lock (your account, keys, and past assets stay intact).

Generations are billed by your provider at raw API cost, on top of $9.99/mo. These provider charges are between you and the provider — KEYFRAME never sees, marks up, or takes a cut of them.

04Your Content

What you create — prompts, uploaded references, and generated images, video, and lipsync output — is yours. We don't claim ownership over it.

Ownership and usage rights in AI-generated output can also depend on the terms of the model provider that generated it. Since you're the provider's direct customer, their terms apply to the output your key produces, alongside these Terms. Check them if you plan to use generated content commercially.

05Our Intellectual Property

The KEYFRAME name, logo, interface, and software are ours. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the studio while you have an active subscription. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from the KEYFRAME software or brand.

06Account Termination

You can close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or a provider's own terms with a key stored in your account, or if we're required to by law.

On termination, your subscription stops, studio access ends, and any stored keys stop being usable by us. We handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

07Disclaimers

KEYFRAME is provided "as is." The AI models behind every generation are built and operated by third parties we don't control. We don't guarantee that outputs will be accurate, appropriate, available, or free of errors, and model behavior can change without notice.

We're a studio, not a model vendor — when something goes wrong at the model layer, we'll help however we can, but the underlying model's behavior isn't something we can promise or fix.

08Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, KEYFRAME isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including losses tied to generated content or to a third-party provider's API. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid KEYFRAME in the three months before the claim arose.

09Not Affiliated

  • KEYFRAME is an independent product.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Higgsfield, Freepik, OpenArt, fal.ai, Replicate, or any AI model vendor whose models are available through our studio.
  • Any references to those names describe compatibility or comparison, not partnership.

10Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you by email. Continuing to use KEYFRAME after a change takes effect means you accept the update.

11Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California (placeholder — see note below), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
